A Fresh Start for 2026

Edit page

Intro

This year, I’m intentionally slowing down how I stream and create. Not because I’m burnt out or disappearing, but because I want what I make to be something I can sustain. The most obvious change is simply streaming again. In 2025, I went live a few times as I retrained my streamer legs and tried to start setting up a tentative schedule for myself. And I’m deliberately not letting myself feel guilty if I miss a stream or a goal because I’m socially or physically spent. Balance. Or something like it.

So What Am I Doing Now?

Going forward, I’ll be streaming on Twitch with a focus on chill, maybe cozy streams. A place to hang out and relax as our evenings wind down. Maybe some lo-fi playing or maybe some 90’s alternative. I’ll slowly also start working on some Shorts or long-form content on YouTube (maybe some FFXIV/gaming-related cooking videos?). The Shorts I did for Lorecraft did well, so I think if I spent some time, I could create videos people would enjoy.

I’m aiming for three streams a week, currently set for Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays 8pm–11pm PT with a focus on just being me; chill, low-pressure, and persistent. Sundays see me focused on stream tweaks and changes during the day and will be a light chill, maybe cozy reset-for-the-week stream in the evening. Mondays will likely be Baldur’s Gate 3 or something else once my long-time best friend AnubisXy and I finish it. And Fridays are the wildcard days just as likely to have action like Ninja Gaiden 4, a Souls-like, a Metroidvania, or an adventure game like the Quest for Glory games I’ve been playing recently.

The days in between will be for other things ranging from FFXIV raiding to TTRPG game nights.

Here’s Why I’m Not Multi-Streaming

Multi-streaming is popular right now, and it can be a great growth avenue for many creators. But it doesn’t really fit the kind of streams I want to do. My focus on slower, calmer vibes works well on Twitch, but it doesn’t really align with how YouTube handles live content.

Rather than trying to fit a circular peg into a square hole, I’d rather focus on making intentional Shorts or long-form content for YouTube that better fits the platform and allows me to create focused, structured content.

My Way Forward

This isn’t a strict roadmap and that’s intentional. I’m not chasing viewer or sub count. Streaming is primarily a hobby, so I’m not going to treat it like a job, but I will focus on showing up consistently in ways I can sustain.

Growth for me is building a new small, but genuine, community over time — people who are here for that slower pace, the conversation, and just a place to unwind after a long day. If things take off, that’s great. If not, that’s fine too. No chasing the full-time streamer dream.

I’ll experiment when inspiration strikes, share things here on this blog — whether I’m proud of them or they end up being things I learned from.

The one rule I’m going to hold myself to is not sacrificing health, sleep, or my love for making things in favor of trying to grow faster or push harder. If I miss a stream or goal? I miss it. I just keep going.
